Somehow in their 25 years as a band, Nine Inch Nails never got around to playing late night. Not a single show. But that all changed last night (Nov. 8) when the band made their late night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Last week, Colbert announced that Daft Punk could not appear as scheduled on his show, The Colbert Report, because of a contractual obligation with MTV. He then announced that the band would be performing at the VMAs. The thing was, it was supposed to be a secret.
It’s not as though the song hasn’t been featured in a number of movies and TV shows, including Lost in Translation and 30 Rock. At least on True Blood, “F*** The Pain Away” was used in a way that fully honored its hedonistic nature.
