Linkin Park are apparently not just race fans, they’ve gone all-in on the international sport.
The band has teamed with Black Falcon, drivers of jaw-dropping Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 race cars competing in this weekend’s 24 Hours of Spa. Not only will Mario Engel pilot the No. 00 AMG car around the 4.3 mile track up against a myriad of other competitive super cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis, but the Monaco-based driver will do it for a whopping 24 hours and he’ll definitely be looking good doing it.
Linkin Park’s involvement in the car’s look was pretty extensive: they helped the car’s livery (graphics), so naturally, there’s a massive logo on the door and even bigger one on the car’s wing for every camera to capture.
The Linkin Park GT3 is the second joint project as part of the “Two Stages – One Passion” partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Linkin Park. The band contributed their song “Papercut” to the world premiere of the new Mercedes-AMG GT R campaign in June, featuring Formula One World Champion driver, Lewis Hamilton.
Look for the Linkin Park chrome-wrapped AMG in the Blancpain GT Series. The green flag drops this Saturday at 4:25 local time in Brussels, Belgium. (10:35 AM ET / 7:35AM PT) Fox Sports will air highlights in addition to various live streams on the official 24 Hours of Spa Facebook page.
