Twenty One Pilots launched their tour in Cincinnati, Ohio last night and among the many memorable moments they offered fans was a surprise cover.
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun performed a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” including a sweet trumpet solo that picks up the song’s main melody. Fans sang the chorus back to the band before the guys chimed in to bring it all home.
Apparently before taking the stage, the band circulated their set list among fans and “Love Yourself” was nowhere to be found on the sheet. But considering the night involved a drumline and a hamster ball, it seems like all bets were off.
One audience member captured a snippet of the cover, check it out below.
The band has become known for surprising fans with covers of popular songs, including Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry,” Tears for Fears’ “Mad World,” Ace Hood’s “Bugatti,” DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win,” Andrea Bocelli’s “Time to Say Goodbye,” “Johnny Rivers’ “Brown Eyed Girl,” and Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love.”
