The Riot Fest – a weekend long festival that takes place in Denver and Chicago (on separate weekends) has just announced the bulk of its lineups for this year (there are still some surprises yet to be unveiled, based on the question marks on their lineup poster). Denver’s version will be September 2- 4 at the National Western Complex, and the festival will hit Chicago September 16 – 18 at Douglas Park.
As previously reported, “The Original Misfits” – consisting of original Misfits members Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only – will be headlining both the Denver and Chicago versions. Also playing both cities will be Ween, Fitz and the Tantrums, the Descendants, Nas, the Deftones, NOFX, Bad Religion, the Hold Steady (performing their Boys and Girls in America album), and Chevy Metal (a covers band led by Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, and which sometimes includes Dave Grohl).
Denver will also feature performances from Jane’s Addiction (playing the Ritual de lo Habitual album, which is the basis of their summer tour dates), Sleater-Kinney, Bad Religion, Tyler, the Creator, Thursday, Jake Bugg, Motion City Soundtrack, Vince Staples and Suicidal Tendencies, among others.
Chicago’s show will boast Morrissey, Rob Zombie (performing White Zombie’s Astro Creep: 2000 ), Social Distortion (performing White Light White Heat White Trash), the Meat Puppets, Bob Mould, GZA, Thursday, Method Man and Redman, Girls Against Boys and Dee Snider of Twisted Sister.
