Listeners to X107.5’s The X-Effect, 10p-Midnight on Sunday nights are used to hearing Vegas artists showcased in the Local Effect. But how familiar are you with the bands themselves? Time to change all of that with the Local Effect Spotlight! Today, I’m featuring Vegas’ Almost Normal…
Alternative duo, Almost Normal, is composed of Andrew Zakher and Ashley Lampman. These two have combined their talents to create a mixture of acoustic and percussive elements with keyboards that drive their evolved sound.
Prior to reforming the line up in the summer of 2013, the group performed at several venues on the Las Vegas Strip and most surrounding states. They’ve shared the stage with local and national touring artists including The Rocket Summer and Las Vegas natives Parade Of Lights and Imagine Dragons.
“We’re proud to be part of the evolving music scene here in Las Vegas because it truly showcases the local talent,” says Lampman. “We feel lucky to have a strong foundation right here at home.”
The night before we celebrate our independence, Almost Normal will be performing at the BLVD Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas as part of the Thursday Night “Set Your Life To Music Concert Series” Local Band Showcase.
“Without the Vegas music scene, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to perform at The Cosmopolitan’s BLVD Pool on July 3. The support has been incredible since the release of our EP… and we’re excited to share the stage with two great Vegas bands, American Cream and Goldboot.”
The duo released their debut EP ‘In Technicolor’ this past spring and it has gained positive recognition from several music media outlets. Listen Sunday night to the Local Effect at 11p to hear Almost Normal, right here on X107.5!
