Sound City Vs The Parlotones
In the recent years, we have seen a lot of super groups come and fall off the music map. The challengers are not necessarily the latest, however… it would be one to be recon with that’s for sure. Not only has former Nirvana drummer and front man of the Foo Fighters put together a killer documentary with ‘Sound City’. The soundtrack features a slew of big name rock stars from every light in the musical spectrum. Track number six, “From Can To Can’t”, not only features Grohl himself. It also stars Corey Taylor on vocals, Rick Nielson on guitar and bassist Scott Reeder. I can only guess this song sounds like what Pink Floyd would have back in the day on steroids!
Our challengers tonight have also grabbed themselves some serious notoriety in their home of Johannesburg, South Africa. The Parlotones bring a unique new wave, post punk vibe to their multiplatinum selling music. Who released their latest disc ‘Journey Through the Shadows’ in May of 2012. Tonight they bring their latest to the battle “Shake It Up”.
Will the challengers make it a States takeover as they have done in their home country? Or is the combo of Taylor, Grohl, Reeder and Nielson just too much for the newcomers?
