Two-thirds of Blink-182 will be touching down in Australia next year in support of the band’s latest effort, Neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, Travis Barker remains scarred by a flying phobia as a result of the 2008 plane crash he endured while traveling with DJ AM. The drummer’s fear of flying has limited his ability to tour with the band, who might have to use a fill-in for dates where Barker cannot travel.

Barker explained to Red Bulletin magazine, “it’s hard to say what the band could do or what its potential is, because I can’t really get everywhere.”

He also added that his family gives him extra motivation to put his flight fright to rest. “I’m contemplating getting knocked out and getting on a plane to Australia. I want to overcome that eventually,” Barker said. “My kids are scared to death to fly. I want them to witness me overcome it.”

Despite his optimism, Barker is currently not scheduled to appear on the band’s Australian tour in early 2013.

The South Carolina crash four years ago left four people dead, with Barker and DJ AM as the only survivors. In addition to the two crew member of the plane, Barker’s assistant and bodyguard were killed in the accident.
