During the two weeks of Coachella 2012, dozens of parties were thrown throughout neighboring desert towns, of which many included performances by high-profile artists on the festival bill. One such party was thrown by Vice Media’s independent music arm called Noisy.
During the festival, Palm Springs’ recently renovated two-story Ace Hotel was taken over entirely by music fans. There wasn’t an old fart in the building. It was during this Noisy-sponsored party that Florence & The Machine‘s Welch teamed with Dev Hynes of Blood Orange and Lightspeed Champion to cover Green Day’s classic “Hitchin’ A Ride.
Be sure to watch all the way through 2:09 as Welch belts out a scream unlike anything you’ve heard her do.
Additional songs from the Florence + Dev team will include “Never Let Me Go,” “Galaxy of the Lost” and “Kiss with a Fist.” For updates on these and other releases from the Ace Hotel sessions, follow Noisy on YouTube.
Florence & The Machine are currently enjoying the #1 spot on iTunes top songs chart with their Calvin Harris remixed “Spectrum (Say My Name).”
