Listeners for U.K. radio station XFM just voted for the top-20 greatest frontmen of all-time. Oasis singer Liam Gallagher beat out plenty of great modern rock singers and some bona fide legends to take the top spot.
It’s understandable that Gallagher would make this list, considering how highly revered he and his band Oasis are in Britain compared to everywhere else in the world. He beat out legendary Queen singer Freddie Mercury for top honors.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl checks in at #4, while Brandon Flowers of The Killers gets #6, Eddie Vedder gets #14 and Caleb Followill of Kings of Leon appears at #17.
Liam appears not only aware of his new status, but looks forward to singing the Oasis songs that made him famous. This is contrary to what he’s said in the past, formerly claiming that Oasis songs shouldn’t be performed without brother Noel. Story here.
