Long-running nu-metal band Disturbed have announced that they are to go on an open-ended hiatus – hinting that the band will perhaps one day make a comeback.
They are marking their temporary send off with the release of a b-sides album, entitled The Lost Children.
Last.fm Trends looks at their scrobbles.
Disturbed formed in 1996 and have racked up a huge 70,065,481 scrobbles across their five studio albums.
The first album, The Sickness, didn’t appear until 2000. The album was a huge success and is the band’s second most scrobbled album with 13,339,553 scrobbles.
Songs from it, such as “Down With The Sickness” (7,557 listeners last week) and “Stupify” (2,045,827 total scrobbles), both appear in the band’s top weekly tracks chart amongst newer material such as “Stricken” (2,755,759 total scrobbles) from 2005′s Ten Thousand Fists.
The band’s latest album, Asylum, was released in August 2010 and took the band’s weekly scrobble count, albeit briefly, to 600,000.
With the band about to take some time off, it is up to the b-sides album The Lost Children to give them a big push before everything inevitably quietens down.
